JatimVoice.com – Ahead of the 2025 Hajj season, Surabaya’s Sukolilo Hajj Dormitory has readied 585 rooms to accommodate over 1,900 prospective pilgrims (jemaah calon haji), equivalent to five flight groups (kloter). Extensive refurbishments ensure all facilities meet cleanliness and comfort standards, confirmed UPT Sukolilo chief Gartaman on Wednesday (24/4/2025). "Renovations are 100% complete, with only final touches remaining," he said.

Priority for Elderly and Disabled Pilgrims
Special accommodations include ground-floor rooms with grab bars in bathrooms for elderly and disabled pilgrims. Four buggy vehicles will assist in transporting them—and their luggage—to departure points.
Nutritious Meals for Optimal Health
Pilgrims will receive three main meals and two snacks daily, with menus designed by nutritionists and the Surabaya Health Quarantine Center (BBKK). "Meals are tailored for all ages to ensure pilgrims stay healthy before departure," Gartaman emphasized.
Surabaya Embarkation to Serve 36,518 Pilgrims
